Education

I graduated with a Bachelors of Arts in English Writing from the University of Pittsburgh. I earned my Pennsylvania Teacher Certification in Secondary English Education from Seton Hill University.  I earned a Master of Education in Literacy from Indiana University of Pennsylvania. I also completed an additional 45 graduate credits from Concordia University at St. Paul focused on sustained silent reading, read alouds, vocabulary, poetry, graphic novel studies, and engaging online learners. 

Teaching Experience 

From the beginning of my teaching career in the 2005-2006 school year, I have been in Derry Area Middle School. I have experience teaching English Language Arts 7 and English Language Arts 8. In addition to my teaching responsibilities, I advise the Derry Area Middle School Student Leadership Team. This is a group of student leaders who plan and execute fundraising events, school dances, and other perks for middle school students.
