Welcome from Ms DeFabo!

Ms DeFabo holds a Bachelor in Music degree 

as well as a degree in Hotel, Restaurant and Institutional Foods Management from Mercyhurst College.

She also holds a Master in Music Education from Indiana University of Pennsylvania. 

Ms DeFabo has continued to further her education in areas such as differentiation, classroom management, motivation, curriculum development and non-traditional education models.

Currently, Ms DeFabo teaches in the Elementary Gifted program, Gr 4 & 5 Chorus as well as K-5 General Music. She also facilitates elementary flexible enrichment, and is very proud to be a member of the Spring Musical coaching staff.

Ms DeFabo began her teaching career in 1989 in the Hempfield Area School District's music department. After 15 years of full time service, she left teaching briefly to raise her children. In 2010, she returned to teaching, first as a long-term substitute in the Jeannette City School District before finding her new home here in Derry.
